Quirky Heirloom Throw
This year we can expect to see a surge in vintage  inspired decor, with handmade and antique furnishings, fabrics and accessories. Anthropologie is known for unique items within the vintage/ antique tone. I am drawn to the Quirky Heirloom Throw, especially in the neutral finish. Cotton is handknit into dozens of mismatched pinwheels. This cozy, a-bit-eccentric afghan feels homespun. ...

Novella Wallpaper
I have a profound love for the 1920's. From the  glamour and fashion to the music, and most importantly- the decor, which is well known as the Art Deco and Art Nouveau era. This classic style is influenced by geometric designs and theatrical florals. It is only natural that I am highly attracted to the Novella Wallpaper (in Black) from the Art Decor Collection by Graham & Brown.  This washab...
Select Missoni Home Rugs
I pretty much love each and every item in the Missoni Home collection. So rather than post the complete line I figure its a better idea to highlight my absolute favorites, starting with rugs. Each bold rug is made of 100% wool and wear exceedingly well in high-traffic areas.. Custom sizes are available. I will begin with the Esmeraldas Rug. I find the floral graphics very interesting, and a...
Nixon Table
I really love the classic-meets-modern vocabulary of the Nixon Table collection by Jonathan Adler. The round base is made from perforated metal, available in polished nickel or brushed brass finishes. The dining table comfortably seats six people. The dining table and cocktail table are available with white stained ash or an oiled walnut top. The end table top is reversible- available ...
Nub Collection
The “Nub” collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola was awarded  the 2011 Best of NeoCon: People's Choice.  As described on Andreu World's site, the Nub collection is composed of an attractive line of sofas and chairs with natural wood structures that offer multiple color combinations for their structures and upholstery. Nub is the result of a sophisticated cabinet-making proces...
Lumina Tiles
The allure from waves of  iridescent color of the mother-of-pearl tiles mixes beautifully with the Thassos white marble in the Lumina tiles. Contrary to it's delicate mirror-like appearance, mother-of-pearl is highly resilient and very strong. This new addition is added to other thoughtful and tasteful collections of stone and tile mosaics by Studium in NYC. Visit Studium for more informat...

Woodland Sanctuary Bathroom by Kohler

Posted By: Natasha on February 13, 2010 in Bathroom, Blurbs, Ceiling, Design Concepts, Indirect Lighting, Lighting, Wall Applications, Walls & Columns - Comments: 1 Comment »

I am loving the Woodland Sanctuary bathroom concept by Nikki Blustin and Oliver Heath of Blustin Heath Design for Kohler. It is a great example of utilizing indirect lighting and color to create mood and set design tone. I also respect the designer’s use of natural and sustainable resources.

Via Kohler:
Nature’s Design
The dark Wenge wood of the Escale® Suite vanity, combined with translucent eco-resin wall panels, inspire the bather to feel the peace of total seclusion.
Floating ceiling panels above the bath emit a gentle light through leaf-shaped cutouts, evoking a sense of evening sunlight filtering through a canopy of trees. The KOHLER Escale bath, toilet, lavatories and vanity, combined with Symbol™ faucets, offer smooth contours that mimic nature’s rhythms.
Textured flooring by Ann Sacks® of pebbles in Ocalla tan caress the bather’s feet, and WaterTile™ bodysprays and showerheads provide a customized hydrotherapy experience in the shower. Adjustable sprayfaces change the direction of water for targeting specific areas of the body. The DTV™ shower system allows bathers to preset their preferences, including temperature, sequence of spray pattern, and pressure–all at the touch of a button.
Blustin adds, “WaterTiles really help to harmonize the room. They touch the body at different points, summoning the feeling of a gentle rain or perhaps a waterfall.”

Sounds good to me, please pass the bubble bath!
